Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Everything went well! We arrived for our 9:00 am appt early. Sat in the car until 8:30  and headed in. After going through security, we went to the check in line. The guy gave us a number and told us to wait to be called to the door. By the time we got out of that line, it was about 8:50 and we sat down to wait. By 9:00, we were called by an officer to come to the door and he led us back to his office. He took my husband's picture and fingerprints and then asked some very basic questions (address, my name.) I prepared a file with 100 photos and more docs to prove our marriage, he said he didn't need any of it. He did ask for my husband's birth certificate again though, so we gave him that and he took a copy. He realized our medical expired and said we would need to get that but we were pretty much approved pending that. I called the nearest doctor to us when we got in the car and had an appointment for 1 pm today. We just finished that this afternoon and they said the medical rep... read complete review

Arrival/Security/Check-In/Wait:
The local Orlando CIS has a nice, newer building which was very easy to find right off of Lee Vista Blvd. My husband and I arrived at 10:30am for a 10:45am appointment and easily found parking. When we got into the building (only one entrance, no suite or offices numbers to figure out,) there was immediately a line for security. There were probably 20 people in line ahead of us and it went very slow, taking almost 30 minutes to get through. The Security Guards speak with everyone one at a time, checking IDs and appointment/InfoPass documentation; the man doing it when we were there was checking... read complete review

Interview: the IO (a lady) called us exactly at 9am, we went to the interview room and she started with the oath. Then she read the I-485 questions (yes or no questions). She asked my driver license (i gave her) and my EAD and I said that I didn't receive it yet. She asked if we had some other documents or pictures to give her and we did that. Then the IO asked about my parents who live in Brazil and about my previous marriage. She looked again all the documents she had in a yellow file and the asked me about my daughter's custody (she's 11). I answered that I hold her custody since ever because I got divorced couple months after she born. Then the IO asked me the document that proof I hold my daughter's custody. I explained her that I left the document in Brazil because I really don't need it as I have a good relationship with my ex-husband. To sum up the IO give us a RFE. She asked for my daughter's custody document and the deed of the house.

My Attorney sent the docum... read complete review

Medical expired, only valid for 6 months of date of embassy interview. Pretty sure it is impossible to get an interview date prior to the exam expiring.
